Cairngorm Mountain
With 12 lifts and 37km of runs Cairngorm is the best known resort. Aviemore is the nearest town with a bus shuttle to the slopes. Currently, The Mountain Railway is out of service.
BASI Course Meeting Point
If a course is to run on Cairngorm, please meet your Trainer at 0845 at the bottom station of the Cairngorm funicular, at the top end of the car park. There are two buildings at the top end of the car park on Cairngorm; the bottom station of the funicular is on the left and the Day Lodge is on the right.
Your Trainer will contact you directly to confirm the meeting time and place, through Whattsapp, before the course starts.
Off Snow Sessions:
Your trainer will give you further information with regards this throughout the week.
View the Cairngorm website here.
NB: If a course is running on the mountain, in the event that extreme weather or lack of snow prevents access to the mountain for your Level 1 course, BASI reserves the right to move your course to a local dry slope. There will be a daily uplift charge at any dry slope we use, so do not purchase a lift pass until you been contacted by your Trainer to confirm the venue.
In the event that extreme weather prevents access to the mountain for your Level 2 course, BASI reserves the right to move your course to another slope (which may include a dry slope for a limited number of days). In the event of lack of snow, the Level 2 course can not be run entirely on a dry slope and therefore the course may have to be cancelled.
Please remember that running courses in Scottish Mountain resorts is challenging as conditions are unpredictable. Please do not hesitate to contact the BASI office if you have any questions about attending a Scottish course.
Should a course have to be moved to a local dry slope, public transport is very limited if any so it is recommended that you have your own transport.
BASI accepts no liability for any travel or accommodation costs incurred if a course is cancelled.
