If you’re curious about the skills and knowledge required to teach a learner with a visual impairment, this course is for you...
Our online Visual Impairment in Snowsports course is designed to introduce you to the adaptations needed and knowledge required to safely teach learners with visual impairments.
Designed to be discipline-neutral you will learn alongside members from all disciplines. Our trainers will develop your understanding of commonly encountered visual impairments, give you the skills required to evaluate the needs of your learner and show you how your guiding position can impact on the success of your delivery.
Safety considerations and equipment options are also covered, as well as exercises that will encourage you to think ‘outside the box’ when it comes to delivering a lesson.
The course will run over two sessions with a break in between, which means it easily fits into evenings and gives you some time to reflect and complete the Home Study tasks between sessions.
It counts as 1 BASI CPD credit to refresh your qualification and can also be used to top-up shadowing hours (course attendance counts for 10 hours).
We'd particularly recommend this course if you're planning a teaching exam in the near future, it's perfect for preparation.
