Alpendorf is an Austrian village and a part of the town St. Johann im Pongau sitting at an altitude of 800m at the foot of Mt. Gernkogel (1,787m). It is located 55 km south of Salzburg.

St. Johann-Alpendorf is a traditional Austrian ski village offering over 120 kilometres of skiing with downhill runs and terrain for every level of ability.

Alpendorf also serves as one of the gateways to the Salzburger Sportwelt, allowing easy access to resorts such as Wagrain, Flachau and Zauchensee incorporating 44 modern gondolas, chair-lifts and T-bars.

Welcome Meeting
There will be a welcome meeting on the evening prior to courses starting. This will be held at 6.30pm on the evening before your course begins. The venue for these meetings will be confirmed. 

NB: The welcome meeting is an integral part of your course which we strongly recommend you attend. It is a chance to get to know your Trainer and fellow students as well as gain valuable knowledge about the weekly programme including timings, weather and piste information. The meeting will explain the course material and you may be asked to prepare something for the next day (possibly a short teaching session or further reading depending on the course). Any resources required for your course will be handed out by your Trainer. This usually includes a hard copy of the attached workbook. It is also a chance for you to speak to the Trainer about any issues, worries or questions you may have. Please make every effort possible to make this meeting however, if you are unable to make the meeting, please contact the office on 01479 861717 to advise. The office is open 10.00 to 13.00 and 14.00 to 17.00 Monday to Friday. If you are calling with an emergency outwith these times, please call on 01479 780011.

If you are unable to make the above meeting, then please meet your Trainer at 8.30am at the meeting point next to the lift station on the morning your course starts.  Trainers will be wearing a BASI branded uniform.

Fugen is the first ski resort in the Ziller Valley, accessing the ski areas of Spieljoch, Hochzillertal and Hochfugen.  With it’s north-facing slopes, Hochfugen is renowned for a long season often running until the 1^st May.  Also included on the Zillertal Superskipass lift pass are the other ski areas in the Ziller Valley, making up over 500km of skiing and including the Zillertal Arena (Zell am Ziller), Mayrhofen and the Hintertux Glacier.

Fugen is situated in the Zillertal Valley in Tirol, only 46km from Innsbruck.

It is about 5mins walk from the Spieljoch Gondola station.

Please meet your Trainer at 8.30am at the meeting point next to the Spieljoch lift station in Fugen on the morning your course starts.  Trainers will be wearing a BASI branded uniform.

The main attraction of Hintertux is obvious – its glacier. It is not only extensive, it arguably has the most challenging and interesting runs on any lift-served alpine glacier.

Note that snow and weather conditions can vary significantly in the mountain environment especially in the summer months. You need to be prepared to perform at your best in a variety of snow conditions.

Hintertux is a village at the end of the Tuxertal valley, a side valley of the Zillertal Valley, Tirol, Austria. It is part of the municipality of Tux, which encompasses the entire valley.

Hintertux is famous for its glacier skiing area, usually marketed as "Hintertuxer Gletscher", but actually located mostly on the Gefrorene Wand (German for "frozen wall") and partly on the Riepenkees glaciers. The highest of the 22 lifts in the area reaches 3250 m of altitude.

The Stubaital is an alpine valley in Tyrol, Austria. It is the central valley of the Stubai Alps. The Ruetz river flows through the valley. This 40-km long valley runs southwest from Schönberg im Stubaital, near Innsbruck. Below Fulpmes, the towns lie on terraces above the Ruetz on either side of the river. At Fulpmes the terraces merge to form the valley floor. South of Neustift im Stubaital, the main valley continues as the Unterberg and the tributary Oberbergtal branches to the north. The ÖBB operates from the 16-MW hydroelectric power plant located in Fulpmes. The cinema in Fulpmes still uses the oldest film projector in Austria.

Please meet your Trainer at 8.30am on the morning that your course starts. The meeting point will be the ticket office at the Base Station.
