Salomon announces sponsorship for BASI National Education Team 2018 - 2022

Salomon and BASI reconfirm sponsorship partnership for BASI’s National Education Team as they make their preparations for the World Interski Congress in Pamporovo, Bulgaria in March 2019. Salomon’s sponsorship package worth £40,000 (SRP) will supply each member of NET with a complete fitting of alpine and snowboard hard ware, accessories  and luggage for the 2019 Interski event.

Salomon are BASI members’ most popular pro deal brand and the performance, quality and styling of Salomon gear will create an important visual statement for the team when it delivers the BASI programme at Interski in 2019.

Roy Henderson, BASI’s NET Manager said:

“Salomon have been a loyal sponsor of Great Britain’s Interski delegation for many years and we are grateful for their continued support. Using equipment that is well prepared, is fit for purpose and looks good gives confidence to the team’s overall performance, not to mention morale.”

The National Education Team expect to take delivery of their hard ware (skis, snowboards, boots and poles) prior to their next training event in Zermatt this autumn. In the meantime, work continues on the content development of the programme that BASI will be delivering at the World Interski Congress in 2019.

Paul Griffiths, Head of Marketing for Amer Sports UK commented:

“Salomon is delighted to continue to partner with BASI’s National Education Team at one of the snowsports industries most prestigious events and we wish BASI a hugely successful event.”

The Role of BASI’s National Education Team

The role of NET is not simply to do some great synchronized ski demos at the World Congress but to work with the BASI training manager and other BASI trainers over the four year project cycle to develop, improve and refine what we do around all BASI course content, delivery and assessment.  NET deliver at the trainers conference, they train the trainers, lead on the trainers quality assurance programme, develop and refine changes to our system, write and edit our training manuals and workbooks and present and test changes on the trainers and ultimately the membership.

History of Interski

Interski International was founded in Arlberg (Austria) in 1951 and every 4 years organises the biggest Snowsport Congress in the world. The Interski congress exists for the specific purpose of sharing knowledge and understanding  of ski teaching methodologies and techniques among Interski’s associated nations.

In the beginning, it was made up of only alpine countries, today it is made up of 37 nations, including Great Britain, represented by BASI
