Telemark CPD

What CPD are you required to do?

  • Level 1 & 2 members require a minimum of 1 day every 3 years
  • Level 3 ISIA & Level 4 ISTD members require 1 day every year, 2 days every 2 years or 3 days every 3 years.
  • A maximum of 3 years will be awarded (this includes attending a 5-day course).

CPD can be obtained by completing:

  • BASI on-snow courses
  • BASI CPD courses (on-snow or online)
  • Private CPD (delivered by a BASI Trainer) – 1 day
  • External CPD – 1 day*

*Please note: If the member completes an external CPD, they must complete a BASI CPD next time their CPD is due to be updated.

Private CPD

Private CPDs can only be organised by a member directly with a Trainer. Only current BASI Trainers are authorised to deliver a private CPD.

BASI is not responsible for organising Private CPD
.

This option exists for members’ convenience in a resort where they have direct contact with a BASI Trainer.  BASI trainers cannot advertise a Private CPD in any way, including on any online social media group or channel.

Individual Trainers will complete all the required administration to seek authorisation no less than 48 hours before the intended CPD date. Members need to be current to attend the CPD and BASI membership paid in advance.

Trainers cannot charge members more than the daily rate outlined in the current BASI Trainer Fee and Expenses Policy.

Maximum of 8 members per group is allowed and a maximum of 1-day CPD can be obtained.

For the avoidance of any doubt, BASI no longer assists members in sourcing a Trainer to deliver Private CPD

If members wish to request a course, they can do so by submitting a “course request” under the “courses” tab on the website. If there is sufficient demand, BASI will create a course that members can book onto via the website.

External CPD

External CPD’s are considered on a case-by-case basis. Members should seek pre-approval before attending an external CPD to avoid disappointment if the course is not authorised.

A maximum of 1-day CPD can be obtained from External CPD.

The only courses that will likely be authorised by BASI as External CPD are:

  • CPD from another Snowsports association or Home Nation Governing Body (Snowsport Scotland, Snowsport England, Snowsport Wales)
  • Mountain Safety courses delivered by a professional body
  • BASI endorsed courses

Members must provide confirmation of attendance or certificate of completion for the external CPD to be recognised, uploaded directly through their members area.
