About Nonstop

20 years ago (it feels like yesterday!) Nonstop was launched to provide a professional snowsports course that gave keen skiers and snowboarders a focused, structured but super fun way of spending a ski season in the mountains. Two decades on, the core themes of “Nonstop progression” and “Nonstop fun” remain central to both how and where we deliver our courses.

Whether on a gap year, a break from work, or investing in a new snowsports career, all our participants become amazing skiers or riders, enjoy a wealth of new mountain experiences alongside a crew of close friends, and leave with instructor qualifications that can lead to exciting work and travel opportunities.

Where

Although we offer ski courses in Canada, Italy, France and New Zealand, it’s our 10-week course in Les Deux Alpes, France where we offer the ability to train and qualify in the BASI system.

Les Deux Alpes is the absolutely ideal location for a Gap ski course… Unlike those glitzy resorts renowned for their fur-wearing visitors and over-priced drinks, this is a genuinely cool ski town famed for a massive ski area, super-reliable snow (our glacier fixes that), and a huge apres-ski and music scene (L2A hosts the Freeze Music Festival each winter). Most importantly, it’s a really friendly place enabling you to feel part of a genuine community of locals and seasonaires.

Our package includes accommodation at a super comfortable and central hotel with amazing facilities including a swimming pool, hot-tub, games area, bar and restaurant where a quality breakfast and dinner are served seven days/week.

Coaching

Whilst we will of course make success in the BASI 1 and 2 assessments a key focus of our coaching sessions, our primary goal is to develop you into an amazing skier or snowboarder with the skills to ride the whole mountain in style and having fun. This course is as much a personal ski development program as it is an instructor training course so when there’s fresh powder to enjoy we’ll be making the most of it! Our experienced and super-friendly team of coaches know that by developing great skiers/riders, successful outcomes in the BASI course will follow.

Our coaching team are certified BASI ISTD Level 4 with French equivalence, on hand to help you navigate your way through the BASI system. Coaching features personal development plans, technical sessions, workshops, avalanche and first-aid training, simulated teaching and video analysis to ensure progression.

More Program

A Gap ski course should be about more than just training for instructor exams. That’s why we have developed the More Program, a menu of awesome activities, experiences and away trips that will really enrichen your ski season experience. From trips to the nearby resorts of La Grave and Alpe d’Huez, a weekend in Grenoble, capital of the Alps, opening the pistes with the local pisteurs, snowmobiling, torch-light descents, pub-crawls and cinema trips, these events will fill your season with insta-worthy, fun and memorable experiences.

After the course

With the BASI 2 qualification under your belt, the enviable life of a ski instructor following the snow from the mountains of Japan, North America, Europe, NZ and Australia awaits you if you so wish. Or, if your plan is to go to university or return to your career, the option of gaining a temporary ski instructor role during peak holiday season is something past participants have really enjoyed.
