Conversion & Resit policy for ASSI, ASBI & Club Instructors

In order to create a single instruction educational system for UK Snowsports, BASI has created a new qualification, which is designed to be an achievable entry level qualification for Instructing. This is the BASI Instructor Level 1.
The vision is to create one single qualification at the start of the education system to minimise confusion within the industry and to provide clear simple pathways for aspirant Instructors. The Level 1 Instructor will have more achievable standards than the ASSI/ASBI, which will make it a realistic level for Club Instructors.

BASI has provided a 1 day Conversion Course for ASSI/ASBI and Club Instructors. There will be an assessment element within the Conversion Course for all Club Instructors and anybody who has a 1 day resit requirement for their ASSI/ASBI. Existing ASSI/ASBI will not have to complete the assessment element.

PLEASE NOTE: that attendance of a Child Protection Module may be required if you have not already completed appropriate Child Protection training.

Refreshers
Existing ASSI/ASBI holders may attend BASI refreshers. Due to TAX implications anybody attending a BASI refresher must join BASI as a member. Please note attending a conversion will act as a refresher.

For the BASI Conversion Course dates & venues, please refer to the "Refresher section"
