Course Information: EBP
| For the season 2009/10, BASI is continuing its scheme in support of Level 1 Instructor and Level 2 Instructor Qualification courses through British led ski schools in Europe. BASI has selected 3 partner organizations to become BASI European Business Partners. For Alpine Skiing, they are as follows: - The British Alpine Ski & Snowboard Schools at Morzine and Les Gets (BASS)
- The International Centre of Excellence Val D’Isere (ICE)
- New Generation Courchevel and Meribel
Maintenance of standards and quality of training Each European Business Partner (EBP) has been carefully selected on the basis of experience, knowledge of BASI methods, and achievement of the highest quality standards. Each EBP has a core of BASI Trainers on the staff who will be involved in the provision of BASI training, ensuring that the training will be in full accordance with the BASI syllabus. Course Information The objective of these initiatives is to make BASI training more readily available throughout the season. Through this Instructor level scheme, we will introduce more courses at Level 1 Instructor and Level 2 Instructor. At selected venues we will offer 10 week GAP Programmes where you will enjoy personal development training, be given work experience and will complete a Level 1 Instructor Course, and Level 2 Instructor Training Course, First Aid training, Mountain Awareness and Ski Repair and Preparation. Our very successful GAP programme offers a fastrack into the exciting world of Snowsport Instruction - and where better to start than some of the finest ski areas in the world! In addition, we will introduce Modular Courses for Level 1 Instructor and Level 2 Instructor training. The courses will run under local arrangements through the season. These courses are intended for locally based people who wish to participate in BASI training but who are time constrained by work commitments. A typical programme for Level 1 Instructor would involve, for example, a number of afternoon training sessions spread over January. The normal course content and hours requirements would apply. At the end of the course an assessor would validate the Trainers assessment. Modular Instructor Training courses would most likely, run from the beginning of March to mid April. As the achievement and maintenance of quality standards is a particular imperative, an assessor will attend the final stages of training to validate the course outcomes. Bookings Bookings for these courses will be handled by the individual European Business Partner; |
