Pre-requisites
The following pre-requisites must be met before attending an Snowboard Freestyle Development Coach Level 2 course. Students must have:
- Athletic fitness level required to complete drills
- Snowboard set up requirement of a freestyle board/boots/binding set up
- Helmet and goggles
Outcome
Understand slope style course lay outs and pipe specifications and be able to chose relevant features for riders to develop performance in freestyle snowboarding.
Understand the basic bio-mechanical movements, as explained through physics that appear in freestyle technique. Enhancing analysis of rider performance using bio-mechanical principles. Match drills to correct bio-mechanical principles. How using drills can enhance skill acquisition during practise sessions. Choosing basic drills for slope style and half pipe progressions. The basics of spill zones and park safety. Be able to demonstrate good freestyle technique. Introduce people to park and pipe safely. Basic board prep. Basic understanding of modern equipment
