Qualification Information: Nordic Level 2 Ski Instructor
*70 hrs Snowsport School Experience has to be completed after attending the Nordic Level 2 Ski Instructor Teaching Course, any hours completed before attending the course will not be accepted.
Please Note: Your licence will not be valid without a minimum of a BASIC Criminal Record Disclosure, click here or a Valid First Aid & Emergency Certificate, click here. Your licence needs to be Refreshed at least 1 day every 3 years, click here.
This is the entry level course for students who wish to join the BASI Education System.
Pre-requisites
The following pre-requisites must be met before attending an Nordic Level 2 Ski Instructor Course. Students must:
- Be 16yrs of age or older
- A great attitude
- Good level of fitness for skiing
- Be a competent, recreational Cross-country skier
- Join BASI as an Associate member
Students who are unsure whether or not they are at the necessary standard should ask a qualified BASI member for advice.
Outcome
Successful students will demonstrate Nordic Skiing to a competent level and have the knowledge, ability and understanding to teach in a variety of situations. Students who do not reach the required level may be required to re-sit all or parts of the course.
