When do I become a BASI member?
Answer: You become an Associate member of BASI when you book onto your first BASI course. You will not become a Full Member until successful completion of your first BASI Qualification.
What will I receive as an Associate member of BASI?
Answer:As an Associate member you will receive the BASI E-News and, if requested, an Associate member card. If you wish to receive an Associate member card you will need to contact the office to request that one is sent to you. You must also ensure that a passport-sized photo has been sent to the BASI Office or uploaded through your member area.
How do I log onto my member area?
Answer: Your Member Area is your own personal profile, you can access it by logging in here.
Key in the below details:
Your email address: it must be identical to the one we have for you in our system.
Your membership number: if you are still an associate member without BASI qualification, you do not have such a number yet and should therefore ignore this field.
Your usual password: if you have forgotten it, you can generate a new one by clicking on ‘Click here if you have forgotten your password’.
Your Member Area enables you to renew your membership online (click on Membership Status, and then Renew Membership. The payment page will follow).
You can also book on courses, view your booking history and qualification status, see your course results and reports, pay for due balances, contract BASI insurance, access the annual offers, etc...
How do I pay my membership/subscription?
Answer: You can pay online via your members area, posting a cheque to the BASI office, calling the office with a credit/debit card or by setting up a direct debit(direct debit forms need to be in the office by mid August).
When do I have to pay my membership/subscription?
Answer: At the time of booking your Level 1 Instructor course you are required to join BASI as an Associate member and pay the associate subscription fee and then your membership will be due on the 1st of October every year.
What do I do If my membership has lapsed for a year or more?
Members who have lapsed for a full membership year or longer must go to their Member Area and click on 'Membership status' on the first page (this section will be highlighted in red). Click on 'Renew Membership' and you will be prompted for payment of a £35 rejoining fee and the current year’s subscription fee. This only applies to full members. Associate members are not liable for the rejoining fee.
Why do I need to pay a rejoin fee?
Full Members who have lapsed for a full membership year or longer must pay a £35 rejoin fee as well as the full subscription fee for the current year. The rejoin fee is necessary to help the organization’s sustainability. The organization still needs to function in spite of members who pay their subs sporadically. BASI needs to continue working on behalf of its members for the employability of those members and the recognition of the BASI qualification worldwide, which is costly. We are also trying to support loyalty and hope that the rejoin fee will act as a deterrent and encourage members to pay their subscription fee annually.
If I lose or damage my licence/member card or certificate, will there be a charge to have it re-printed?
Answer:Yes. BASI make a charge of £10 for every licence, member card or certificate that needs to be re-printed due to loss or damage. However, in the event that a member updates their refresher or completes the next level of qualification in the BASI system, a reprint of the licence can be requested at no additional charge.
