Where can I do my 35hrs of snowsport school experience?
Answer: Your 35hrs of snowsport school experience can be completed at any dry slope, snow dome or Snowsport School.
How do I log my 35hrs of snowsport school experience?
Answer: This should be on headed Snowsport School paper and be signed by the Snowsport School supervisor confirming the number of hours and the dates when they were completed. Alternatively you can complete the BASI Log Sheet, this will also need to be signed by the Snowsport School Supervisor.
I am working towards my level 2 when can I start accumulating hours towards the 200 ISIA hours?
Answer: Only when you have gained your Level 2 qualification can you start logging your hours towards your Level 3.
I am working towards my ISIA qualification. When can I start accumulating hours towards the 200 ISTD hours required prior to attending the Level 4 ISTD Technical and Teaching courses?
Answer: You can begin working towards your 200 ISTD hours after successful completion of the Level 3 ISIA Teaching course. Hours must be submitted to the office 2 weeks prior to attending the Level 4 ISTD Technical or Teaching course.
Where can I do my first aid course?
Answer: If you are working towards your first level of qualification with BASI you should ensure that the provider of your first aid course is Health & Safety Exec utive approved and the course is held over a minimum of 2 days (12 hours). A copy of your first aid certificate should be forwarded to the BASI Office when you complete your first aid course. Once the first level of BASI qualification has been achieved, it is your responsibility to ensure that you have a valid, up to date first aid certificate that is suitable for both the country and snow sport school or slope where you work. BASI no longer require to see updated copies of this.
