The BASI Approval Membership scheme is an initiative to develop recognised standards of teaching and customer service, both nationally and internationally within the snowsports industry.
BASI Approved Snowsport Centre:
Approval status is the basis of the whole BASI scheme for the recognition of centres offering snowsport activities. The general requirements of Approval status define the technical, professional and customer care standards expected at all levels. Approval follows a rigorous inspection and audit of the centre's working practices and procedures for the management of snowsports programmes. This inspection will be carried out by an Approval Officer appointed by BASI.
BASI Approved Centre:
Approval status is appropriate for those organisations offering skiing as their prime activity or as a significant part of their overall activity programmes. Typically these would include;
- Commercial snowsport schools offering instruction to the general public.
- Artificial slopes or snow domes who provide instruction as part of their services.
- Holiday companies arranging snowsports courses as whole or part of their holiday programme.
