The British Disabled Ski Team (BDST) represents the racing arm of Disability Snowsport UK (DSUK), "The Skiers & Boarders Charity". Team members are registered and annually licensed with the International Paralympic Committee, Alpine Skiing by DSUK .
We are looking for the right person to work with our elite athletes and our developing athletes as Head Coach and take the team through to the Sochi 2014 paralympics.
Candidates will ideally have international experience in disabled ski racing and coaching qualifications in able bodied alpine ski racing and in disabled (adaptive) disciplines. However, we are interested in hearing from applicants with Coaching experience within the abled bodied racing disciplines who may be wishing to develop their knowledge of working with disabled athletes.
The Head Coach must be used to working anti-social hours away from the home environment and will travel extensively with the team during the Northern Hemisphere ski season.
A full job description will be supplied on application but off slope duties will include co-ordinating individual athlete and team programming, reporting to the Team Manager and to strategic partners and delivering against 1, 4 and 8 year programme plans
Employment will be based on a five day working week, salary dependent upon experience, up to £30,000 per annum pro rata. Holiday 28 days pro rata.
Funding for the position in the first year will be to run from 1st October 2011 until 30 April 2012. However, where funding permits then there is the possibility for this period to be extended.
