Notice is hereby given that a General Meeting of The British Association of Snowsport Instructors Limited shall be held at The Altitude Restaurant meeting rooms, Geneva Airport, Switzerland on 29th January 2011 at 6pm for the purpose of considering and, if thought fit, passing the following resolution:
ORDINARY RESOLUTION
“That Peter Kuwall, Alex Leaf or Philip May be appointed as Alpine Director, with the candidate chosen being the person with a majority of votes in their favour over those in favour of the other candidates, and with full (only members who are holding an Alpine qualification) and life members having the right to vote in favour of one of the three candidates.
Roy Henderson who was previously one of the candidates for the Alpine Director position is no longer eligible to stand for election to the Board of Directors due to his appointment to the new position of BASI Product Manager.

The General Meeting will be followed by a Reception for Members, hosted by BASI and an open Forum for Members. The evening will close at 8pm.
Any items for discussion at the Forum should be emailed to the Secretary of the Board of Directors ShonaTate@basi.org.uk by the 27th January 2011.

Unfortunately due to adverse weather conditions in Grantown-on-Spey and the surrounding aerea the BASI office had to close early today, Friday 3rd December 2010. We hope that normal service will resume on Monday morning.

BASI regret to advise, that today 12th Nov 2010 the HQ offices are currently experiencing a power cut. Unfortunately, no telephone lines are working and most of the computer systems are down. Hopefully everything will be resolved by Monday 15th Nov 2010.

All day event at The Snow Centre, Hemel Hempstead - come along and meet some of the BASI Team. Alpine and Snowboard refreshers available, on snow clinics. AGM 4-5pm, open forum 5-6pm, presentation by Andy Salter 6-7pm.

Launch Party, Dinner, Dance and Raffle Draw hosted by the Demonstration Team and Special Guests will take place at 7pm on June 12th, 2010 at the Watermill Hotel, Hemel Hempstead. Prizes galore are to be raffled from attending the actual event in St. Anton to skis worth £500, specialist boot fitting, ski with a star, bottles of champagne etc.

Fergus Waters has been appointed as the association’s new Chief Executive Officer. The post becomes effective from the end of May 2010 when Fergus officially join the rest of the staff at BASI HQ in Grantown-on-Spey.

Following recent correspondence and meetings with Disclosure Scotland it has been established that the majority of the BASI members are no longer required to complete an enhanced CRD check and that a basic CRD check is sufficient.
